Shares in Whitbread (WTB) took a knock on 25 April amid poor results from its Costa Coffee brand. Like-for-like sales fell by 0.8% between 1 December 2016 and 2 March 2017 versus 3% growth in the previous nine months. The company has a cautious outlook for the leisure brand, anticipating a tougher consumer environment in the UK over the coming year. (DC)
