MTI Wireless Edge Group Ltd on Thursday said its subsidiary Mottech Water Solutions Ltd won a contract to monitor fountains on behalf of one of Israel's largest cities.

The contract, worth about $500,000, sees Mottech partially controlling over 30 fountains, MTI Wireless Edge, an Israel-based communication and radio frequency technology company, said.

Mottech already provides irrigation services in the unnamed city and management of the water fountains is therefore an expansion of the services being offered to this customer, MTI added.

The contract is expected to be completed this year.

‘As importantly, we believe that this could be the start for another niche, but valuable solution that we can roll out to Mottech's wider customer base,’ MTI Chief Executive Officer Moni Borovitz commented.

MTI Wireless Edge shares closed 2.7% higher at 65.75 pence each in London on Thursday.
