Polar Capital Technology Trust PLC on Friday named Catherine Cripps as chair, just months after she joined the board.

Cripps is succeeding Sarah Bates, who was appointed to the board in 2011 and as Chair in 2017. Bates plans to remain as chair until September 8.

Cripps joined the technology-focused investment trust as a non-executive director in September 2021. She currently also acts as non-executive director of Goldman Sachs International and Goldman Sachs International Bank.

The company said: ‘[Cripps] brings to our experienced board a deep understanding of investment management and financial markets more generally, from both an investor's perspective and an operational, risk and control perspective.’

Shares in Polar Capital Technology were up 0.2% at 1,874.00 pence each in London on Friday afternoon.
