Marwyn Value Investors Ltd on Monday said it has hired Mark Hodges as chair of its acquisition company Marwyn Acquisition Co II Ltd.

Marwyn Value Investors Ltd is a London-based investment company managed by Marwyn Asset Management Ltd.

Previously, Hodges was chief executive of ReAssure Ltd. As CEO, Hodges led the firm through its sale to Phoenix Group Holdings PLC in 2020 for £3.25 billion, Marwyn Value Investors noted.

The company added that he also has board experience at FTSE 100 companies Centrica PLC and Aviva PLC.

Following Hodges' appointment, Marwyn Value Investors said it has refined the business strategy of MAC II. The acquisition company ‘will now focus on pursuing acquisition opportunities in the financial services, consumer and technology sectors’, it said.

Marwyn Value Investors added that the strategy will be executed through selective mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships with financial services operators, and ongoing operational improvements.

Managing Partner of Marwyn Investment Management LLP James Corsellis said: ‘An appointment of Mark's calibre as chair in MAC II is a fantastic outcome for Marwyn Value Investors as well as the UK public markets. He has extensive experience across large financial services and consumer businesses, which we believe to be complementary.
