James Cropper PLC - paper products manufacturer based in Cumbria, England - Pretax profit jumps 62% to £2.8 million in the year that ended March 26 from £1.7 million the year before. Revenue rises 33% to £104.9 million from £78.8 million. Attributes this to strong demand throughout the period and across all divisions. Declares a final dividend of 7.5 pence, taking its total payout to 10.0p, having paid nothing the year before.

Enters financial 2023 with a ‘record’ order book. ‘The green agenda represents a significant growth opportunity for all our divisions,’ Chair Mark Cropper says. ‘Our mantra since the earliest days of the Covid crisis has been to 'emerge stronger' and I am confident that this has truly been the case.’

Current stock price: 1,049.00 pence, up 8.7% on Tuesday
