XLMedia PLC - Henley-on-Thames-based digital publisher - Says David John King has formally joined the company as chief executive officer and as a member of the board of directors.

Its previous CEO, Stuart Simms, officially resigned on June 30, having announced his intention to leave in April.

XLMedia non-executive chair Marcus Rich says: ‘We're pleased to welcome David to the role of chief executive officer and, on behalf of the board, I would like to personally thank Stuart for his hard work and commitment during his time at the Company.’

King most recently was CEO of JPIMedia, a publishing group that was bought by London-listed National World PLC in a reverse takeover in May of last year. Prior to JPIMedia, King was CEO at Time Out Group PLC and CFO at BBC Worldwide.

Current stock price: 29.40 pence, down 1.2%
