Kazera Global PLC on Monday named Gerard Kisbey-Green as its new non-executive chair.

The Cardiff-based investment company said that Kisbey-Green has over 36 years experience in the mining and related financial industry and has worked on mines in a range of commodities and geographies both as an engineer and as a banker.

It added that he has also held the position of CEO for a number of private and listed mining and exploration companies.

Kisbey-Green is currently an executive director of Caracal Gold PLC. On Monday, Caracal said he will become a non-executive director, effective immediately.

Chief Executive Officer Dennis Edmonds said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Gerard to the board. His extensive background in mining and finance as well as his physical location in South Africa will considerably aid us in managing and widening our Southern Africa operations.’

Shares in Kazera were up 6.3% to 0.85 pence each in London on Monday around midday.
