Ireland's unemployment rate edged higher in August but remained lower than it was a year ago, figures from the Central Statistics Office showed on Wednesday.
Ireland's jobless rate was 4.3% in August, compared to 4.2% in July. In August a year before, the unemployment rate was 5.5%.
‘The seasonally adjusted number of persons unemployed was 117,200 in August 2022, compared with 114,300 in July 2022. There was a decrease of 23,500 in the seasonally adjusted number of persons unemployed from a year earlier,’ the CSO said.
