Daniel Thwaites PLC - Blackburn, England-based pub, hotel and leisure company - Reports a "respectable" performance in the six months ended September 30. Turnover in the half was £57.9 million, up 21% against the previous year's figure of £47.8 million and 9% ahead of the same period in 2019, pre-pandemic. Pretax profit jumps to £15.7 from £7.5 million year-on-year. Operating profit total £9.0 million, up from £9.3 million the year prior and £9.5 million from 2019.

"The business has emerged successfully from a couple of difficult years and whilst there are some very significant challenges ahead it is financially stable," the company comments.

Firm reinstates an interim dividend of 0.75 pence.

Looking ahead, says company is "sailing into strong headwinds".
