Marks Electrical Group PLC - Leicester-based electrical products retailer - In the six months that ended September 30, records pretax profit of £2.12 million, up 2.3% from £2.07 million in the previous year. Revenue climbs to £43.1 million from £37.4 million, representing growth of 15% year-on-year. Notes that this performance was achieved despite a "particularly challenging market back-drop" and with its online Major Domestic Appliances and Consumer Electronics markets being down over 15% in the first half. Explains that sales growth was driven by gains in televisions, cookers, vacuums and energy-efficient major domestic appliances. Adds that its interim results keep it "on track" to achieve its full-year targets.
