Glencore PLC - Barr, Switzerland based multinational commodity trading and mining company - Gill Marcus will replace Martin Gilbert as senior independent director, following his offer of resignation in the interests of greater diversity and inclusiveness. Gilbert will remain as an independent non-executive director.

Marcus is the former governor of the South African Reserve Bank and has been on the Glencore board since the start of 2018. Gilbert is the chair of AssetCo PLC and Revolut Ltd and was the founder & chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management, now know as abrdn PLC.

Current stock price: 551.30 pence, down 1.0% on Friday afternoon
