Irish wholesale price inflation slows to 3.9% in November from 8.0%

Irish factory gate prices fell in November from the previous month, figures from the Central Statistics Office showed on Thursday.

Ireland’s wholesale price index fell 3.9% on a monthly basis to 86.7 points in November, compared to 90.2 in October. The figure reversed an increase of 2.0% in October from September, when the index stood at 88.4.

On a year-on-year basis, the wholesale price index rose by 3.8%, slowing from an 8.0% annual rise in October.

’’Wholesale electricity prices increased by 5.2% in November 2022, but were 30.1% lower than in November 2021,‘ CSO statistician Jillian Delaney said.

‘Producer prices in several food categories were significantly higher in November 2022 compared with the same month last year. Outputs from Irish manufacturers also increased in price in several other categories.’
