Yamana Gold says 2022 production result beats guidance

Yamana Gold Inc on Wednesday said its production came in ahead of forecast last year.

The Toronto, Canada-based miner said in the fourth quarter to December 31, gold production fell 2.3% to 235,072 ounces from 240,718 a year prior. For the whole of 2022, it increased 1.1% to 894,820 ounces from 884,793 ounces.

Silver production in 2022 rose 0.4% to 9.2 million ounces.

For the whole of 2022, gold equivalent production totalled 1.01 million ounces, beating guidance of 1.00 million.

For 2022, Yamana expects all-in sustaining costs to be below $1,125 per gold equivalent ounce, compared to $932 a year prior.

Yamana Gold shares were 3.1% higher at 505.00 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
