InterContinental Hotels Group PLC - Windsor, Berkshire-based operator of InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotel chains - Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, chief financial officer & head of strategy, and Esther Edgecliffe-Johnson sell 35,862 shares at £55.21, worth £2.0 million, on Tuesday.
InterContinental Hotels earlier Tuesday had reported improved profit and revenue in 2022 on the back of a strong rebound in travel following the Covid-19 pandemic. The hotel and resort chain reported pretax profit of $540 million for 2022, up 50% from $361 million in 2021. Revenue totalled $3.89 billion in 2022, up 34% from $2.91 billion in 2021. CFO Edgecliffe-Johnson told a conference call he remained optimistic for the future of demand, particularly within and outbound from China.
