Trustpilot Group PLC on Friday said that Non-Executive Director & Chair Designate Zillah Byng-Thorne will succeed Tim Weller as chair of the company from April 3.

The Copenhagen-based online review platform hired Byng-Thorne as deputy chair and a non-executive director in September.

At the time, she was chief executive officer of magazine publisher and online media company Future PLC. Since then, Byng-Thorne has announced plans to step down from Future, effective from March 31.

Byng-Thorne has been CEO of Future since April 2014. She was originally appointed as finance chief in 2013.

Trustpilot also said that Weller will remain as a non-executive director of the company to ‘ensure a smooth handover of duties.’ He will not seek re-election as a director of the company at the annual general meeting, which is currently scheduled for May 23.

Weller has been chair of Trustpilot since February 2013.

Chief Executive Peter Muhlmann said: ‘On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Tim for all his hard work, oversight, and leadership during his ten-year tenure as chair of Trustpilot. Under his guidance, Trustpilot has grown significantly and achieved a number of important milestones, including a successful IPO in 2021.

‘I am delighted that we have found such a strong successor in Zillah, and I look forward to continuing to work with her on the profitable long-term growth of the business.’

Shares in Trustpilot were up 1.3% to 99.25 pence each in London on Friday morning.
