Morgan Sindall Group PLC on Tuesday joined other building companies in signing the UK government’s self remediation contract.

The London-based construction company said it has signed the developer remediation contract with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities, a UK government department.

Morgan Sindall explained that the contract covers its wholly-owned subsidiary Lovell Partnerships Ltd, which pledged in April 2022 to address life-critical fire safety issues on all buildings of 11 metres and above in England developed by the company in the 30 years prior.

The contract also covers Muse Places Ltd.

The company added that by signing the contract, it does not affect the provisions it has already made.

On Monday, Barratt Developments PLC, MJ Gleeson PLC, Taylor Wimpey PLC and Berkeley Group Holdings PLC said they had signed the contract. The four companies followed Vistry Group PLC, Crest Nicholson Holdings PLC, Persimmon PLC, Redrow PLC and Bellway PLC in signing the contract.

Morgan Sindall shares fell 0.2% to 1,646.00 pence each in London on Tuesday morning.
