Equipmake Holdings PLC on Friday advocated for the strength of its product offering, after it agreed a partnership with H55 to advance electric aircraft.

Equipmake is a UK manufacturer and developer of electrification products for use across the automotive, aerospace, bus, coach and fire truck industries. H55 is a Sion, Switzerland-based electric aerospace propulsion company.

The relationship will see Equipmake’s lightweight, power dense electric motors used by H55 on the BRM Bristell B23 Energic aircraft, a two-seater electric trainer designed for flight schools and pilot training.

Under the terms of the agreement, Equipmake will support H55 in prototype development with the intention to develop certified propulsion systems.

‘Through our lightweight, power dense electric motors, we’re delighted to be partnering with H55 and are looking forward to working with the team on the BRM Aero project - from development all the way through to certified systems - which will result in an advanced electric two-seater training aircraft,’ said Chief Executive Officer Ian Foley.

‘This is a further endorsement for our pioneering electrification products as we seek to support multiple industries, including the automotive and aerospace sectors, to decarbonise and experience the full benefits of fully electric propulsion.’

Equipmake Holdings shares were trading 6.3% higher at 7.62 pence each on Aquis Stock Exchange on Friday morning.
