Irish wholesale prices unchanged month-on-month in May

Wholesale prices stabilised in Ireland last month, according to the Central Statics Office on Thursday.

Wholesale prices were flat in May from the month before, having fallen 1.0% in April from March. On an annual basis, prices fell 1.1% in May, quickening slightly from the 0.7% fall in April.

‘Domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 5.3% higher in May 2023 compared with a year earlier, while producer prices for exported goods fell by 1.4%,’ the CSO said.

Electricity prices dropped 16% in May from the previous month, and were 27% lower than May 2022.
