JD Wetherspoon PLC - Watford, Hertfordshire-based pub and hotel chain - Chair Tim Martin buys 968,544 shares at 700.00 pence, worth £6.8 million, on Friday last week. Martin, who opened the first Wetherspoon pub in 1979, now has 31.7 million shares, a 24.65% stake.
