abrdn Asia Focus PLC - invests in smaller, listed companies in Asia and Australasia, excluding Japan, formerly Aberdeen Standard Asia Focus - Net asset value at July 31 was 308.9 pence per share, up 4.6% from 295.3p per share a year ago. For the year ended July 31, NAV total return was 7.6% against the MSCI AC Asia ex Japan Small Cap Index benchmark of 8.0%, and up from 2.0% the year before. Declares total dividend of 8.66p per share, up 8.3% from 8.00p a year ago. Chair Krishna Shanmuganathan says: ‘The ASEAN region continues to look attractive...The bloc’s supportive policies, cost competitiveness, industrial development, linkages to existing manufacturing hubs and rising middle-income consumers are structural drivers that are not only attracting foreign direct investment but also spurring intra-Asian trade, and in turn, boosting economic growth.’
