Irish wholesale prices edge down in November but annual decline slows

Wholesale prices in Ireland decreased in the month of November, according to the Central Statistics Office on Friday.

Wholesale prices fell by 0.1% in November from October, swung from October’s monthly rise of 1.1%. On an annual basis, however, prices were 1.4% lower in November, compared to the 2.4% decline in October.

Wholesale electricity prices declined 2.1% in November from the prior month and were 14% lower year-on-year.

The CSO said domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 3.7% lower in November compared to a year before, while producer prices for exported goods rose by 1.6%. Overall, manufacturing producer prices - combining domestic production and exports - were 1.4% higher annually.
