Ireland unemployment rate rises to 4.3% in March from 4.2% in February

Ireland’s jobless rate edged slightly higher in March, numbers from the Central Statistics Office showed Thursday.

According to the CSO, the jobless rate picked up to 4.3% in March, from 4.2% in February. It had sat at 4.1% a year prior.

The number of those unemployed rose by 1.6% to 122,100 in March, from 120,200 in February.

Year-on-year, the number of those unemployed was 8.3% higher from 112,700.
