Production in Ireland’s manufacturing industries improved on a seasonally adjusted basis in May, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed on Tuesday.
Ireland’s seasonally adjusted production in manufacturing industries climbed 5.8% monthly in May, and by 8.2% year-on-year.
Unadjusted, it declined by 9.4% monthly in May, but was 9.1% higher year-on-year.
The seasonally adjusted turnover index improved 0.6% monthly in May and surged 43% annually.
Unadjusted, the turnover index edged down 4.0% monthly but jumped 46% year-on-year.
‘From March to May 2024, turnover in manufacturing industries was down by 3.9% when compared with the previous three-month period,’ said Colin Cotter, a statistician in the Enterprise Statistics division at the CSO.
