Ruffer Investment Co Ltd - Guernsey-incorporated closed-ended investment company aiming for positive total annual return of ‘at least twice’ Bank of England bank rate - Henry Maxey, chief investment officer of investment manager Ruffer LLP, buys 1.9 million shares at 271.41p, worth £5.0 million, on Wednesday.

Howden Joinery Group PLC - London-based kitchen and joinery supplier - Finance Director Theresa Keating sells 150,000 shares at average 938.0 pence, worth £1.4 million, on Tuesday.

Porvair PLC - Kings Lynn, Norfolk-based filtration products maker with Aerospace & Industrial, Laboratory, and Metal Melt Quality divisions - Chief Executive Officer Ben Stocks sells 217,417 shares at average £6.76, worth £1.5 million, on Thursday last week. Retains 194,471 shares, a 0.4% stake. Stocks is due to retire from Porvair in 2025.

Drax Group PLC - Yorkshire, England-based power generator - Non-Executive Director Rob Shuter buys 80,000 shares at 646.09p, worth £516,871, on Wednesday. The shares are his only holding.

First Tin PLC - tin development projects in Germany and Australia - Chair Charles Cannon-Brookes buys 10.0 million shares via Arlington Group Asset Management Ltd at 4.00p, worth £400,000, on Thursday. Arlington, which is 50% owned by Cannon-Brookes, now has 33.0 million shares, a 10.4% stake.

Everyman Media Group PLC - London-based cinema chain - Blue Coast Private Equity LP buys 750,000 shares at 53.0p, worth £397,500, on Tuesday. Blue Coast now has 26.6 million shares, a 29.2% stake. Michael Rosehill is a director of both Blue Coast and Everyman. Last week, Everyman provided a trading update, saying revenue was £46.9 million in the first half of 2024, up 22% from £38.3 million a year before. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation was £6.2 million, up 6.9% from £5.8 million. Everyman will issue its full results for the six months that ended June 27 on September 25.

National Grid PLC - London-based National Grid operates electricity and gas transmission networks in the UK and northeastern US - Chair Paula Reynolds buys 1,885 American depository shares at $56.12 and $56.57, worth $106,184, on June 14 and 17.

Victrex PLC - Lancashire, England-based polymer solutions for automotive, aerospace, energy & industrial, electronics, and medical markets - Chief Executive Officer Jakob Sigurdsson buys 9,000 shares at £10.90, worth £98,064, on Thursday.

Polar Capital Holdings PLC - London-based investment manager - Chief Investment Officer Alexander Black sells 10,000 shares at 602.02p, worth £60,202, on Wednesday.

Robert Walters PLC - London-based recruitment firm - Chair Leslie Van de Walle buys 25,000 shares at £3.79, worth £94,625, on Friday. Van de Walle now has 52,500 shares. On Thursday, Robert Walters reported interim results, showing a swing to a pretax loss of £2.3 million from a profit of £8.1 million a year before, as revenue falls 16% to £459.3 million from £548.3 million.
