Base Resources Ltd - Australia and Africa-focused mineral sands company - Says it is closer to its planned combination with Lakewood, Colorado-based producer of uranium and vanadium Energy Fuels Inc, as the latter receives written confirmation from the Foreign Investment Review Board that the Australian government does not object to the planned merger. The plan values Base Resources’s total equity at A$375 million, about £193.9 million. The merger remains subject to approval by shareholders of Base Resources at the meeting on September 5, and requires the approval of the Federal Court of Australia. Energy Fuels on its website says it has more licensed and operational uranium production capacity than any other US miner.
