Chrysalis Investments Ltd, up 5.7% at 80.46 pence, 12-month range 52.38p-95.30p. The investment firm rises after a slow start to 2024. In the year-to-date, the stock is up 5.6%.

Costain Group PLC, up 1.0% at 106.00p, 12-month range 46.00p-107.00p. Deutsche Bank raises the construction and engineering firm’s price target to 105p from 80p. It leaves its broker rating at ’hold’.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

abrdn Asian Income Fund Ltd, down 0.2% at 214.60p, 12-month range 183.10p-222.12p. The Asia-focused fund edges lower. In mid-August, the firm said its first half net asset value total return came in at 6.8%, versus 9.6% for MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Index. It reported earnings per share of 5.73p, down from 6.28p a year earlier. It said it intends to increase its 2024 dividend from 11.75p in 2023.
