Gem Diamonds Ltd - 70% owner of Letseng diamond mine in Lesotho, southern Africa - Finds 212.91 carat type II white diamond at Letseng mine on Thursday last week. The stone is the 13th diamond of more than 100 carats found so far at Letseng in 2024. Gem recovered two such diamonds earlier this month and two in August. The value of such large stones varies widely. In the first quarter of this year, Gem Diamonds said it sold 113.11 carat white diamond for $39,345 per carat, or $4.5 million.
