Wholesale prices in Ireland saw a slight month-on-month increase in September, slowing their annual decline, data published by the Central Statistics Office showed on Thursday.
Wholesale prices declined 1.6% on-year in September, slowing from 1.7% annual fall in August.
On a monthly basis, overall wholesale prices grew 0.2% in September from August, after a fall of 4.3% in August from July.
Wholesale electricity prices were 1.0% higher on-year in September, having fallen by 5.6% in August.
This was as wholesale electricity prices rose 12% in September from August, after a 9.5% decrease in August from July.
However, wholesale electricity prices were 71% lower than the peak hit in August 2022, the CSO noted.
