Capital & Regional PLC and NewRiver REIT PLC says in separate filings their respective shareholders have approved a proposed deal that will see NewRiver acquire Capital & Regional. The two companies held general meetings of their shareholders on Wednesday. In September, Capital & Regional accepted the offer from NewRiver, valuing Capital & Regional at £147 million. Capital & Regional and NewRiver say the proposed transaction is subject to sanctioning at the court hearing expected on December 6, with the deal becoming effective on December 10. Capital & Regional expects to delist from the Johannebsurg Stock Exchange on April 30, 2025.
