Motorpoint Group PLC, up 13% at 132.00 pence, 12-month range 75.00p-177.48p. The vehicle retailer reports a swing to half-year profit, despite a revenue decline. It also notes an improving market backdrop, with ‘macroeconomic pressures to generally ease’. Pretax profit in the six months to September 30 totals £2.0 million, swinging from a loss of £4.7 million a year prior. Revenue falls 7.3% to £563.1 million from £607.2 million. Motorpoint says ‘strong momentum has continued’ into the second-half.

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

Dialight PLC, down 4.4% at 110.00p, 12-month range 100.00p-275.64p. The stock hits this 12-month low as a tough run for the shares continues. The London-based heavy industrial LED lighting firm has slumped more than 20% over the past month. On Monday, it said its pretax loss ballooned to $20.8 million in the six months to September 30 from $6.6 million a year ago.

Revenue fell 0.8% to $90.3 million from $91.0 million.

Severfield PLC, down 3.9% at 53.44p, 12-month range 47.50p-89.80p. The structural steel maker extends declines after it reported a swing to half-year loss on Tuesday and cautioned on annual profit being below previous expectations as a ‘recovery in some sectors has been slower than expected’.
