Games Workshop Group PLC - Nottingham, England-based miniature wargames maker and retailer - Reaches final agreement with Amazon Content Services LLC, a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc, for adaptations of its Warhammer offering into films and television series. The final accord comes as the two companies agree creative guidelines for the films, TV shows, and ‘associated merchandising rights’.

The miniature wargames maker, set for FTSE 100 promotion later this month, has been in talks with the owner of Amazon Prime since late in 2022 and reached a preliminary agreement in December last year. Games Workshop has ‘granted exclusive rights to Amazon in relation to films and television series set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe’. Amazon also has an option to license ‘equivalent rights in the Warhammer Fantasy universe following the release of any initial Warhammer 40,000 production’.

Games Workshop notes: ‘Production processes in respect of films and television series may take a number of years.’ The company makes no change to its forecast for its current financial year, which ends on June 1.
