DIRECTOR DEALINGS: New CEO buys after C&C shares hit by profit warning

The following is a round-up of share dealings by London-listed company directors and managers announced this week and not separately reported by Alliance News:

C&C Group PLC - Dublin-based beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks maker - Chief Executive Officer Roger White buys 100,000 shares at £1.21, worth £120,580, on Thursday. White became CEO in January, joining C&C from AG Barr PLC. C&C shares fell by 18% on Thursday after C&C warned challenging markets and a cautious consumer will mean annual underlying operating profit will be below expectations.

Burford Capital Ltd - litigation finance provider with offices in London and New York - Executives invest a total of $17.5 million through the company’s deferred compensation plan, using their cash compensation to buy 1.2 million shares at $13.25 to $13.71. This includes 630,249 shares bought by CEO Christopher Bogart. Additionally, Chief Development Officer Travis Lenkner buys 25,283 shares at $13.25, worth $335,000.

Georgia Capital PLC - Tbilisi-based investor in domestic businesses in Georgia - Non-Executive Director Neil Janin sells 142,773 shares at £14.50 to £14.90, worth £2.1 million, on Friday last week and on Monday and Wednesday this week.

Coca-Cola HBC AG - Zug, Switzerland-based soft drinks bottler - Chief Digital & Technology Officer Mourad Ajarti sells 34,740 shares from a vested performance share award at £34.34, worth £1.2 million, on Tuesday.

Hunting PLC - London-based services for oil and gas industry - Daniel Tan, managing director for Asia Pacific, buys 218,565 shares at 295.5p, worth £645,860, on Wednesday. Tan now has 385,720 shares, a 0.2% stake.

Baltic Classifieds Group PLC - online classified ads portal provider in Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia - Non-Executive Director Edmund Williams, together with associate Joanna Barkwill, buys 170,482 shares at average 300.71p, worth £512,656, on Wednesday.

Inspiration Healthcare Group PLC - West Sussex, England-based products for hospitals - Non-Executive Director Neil Campbell sells 2.0 million shares at 16.5p, worth £330,000, on Wednesday.

Ocado Group PLC - Hatfield, Hertfordshire-based licenser of grocery delivery technology - Chair Adam Warby buys 100,000 shares at £2.25, worth £225,000, on Thursday.

Vertu Motors PLC - Gateshead, England-based automotive retailer - Operations Director Leonardo Caruso sells 236,220 shares at 51.83p, worth £122,431, on Wednesday. Caruso now has 12,651 shares.

CAB Payments Holdings PLC - London-based payment processing and foreign exchange provider - Chief Financial Officer James Hopkinson buys 214,000 shares at £0.48, worth £102,701, on Thursday. Chair Ann Cairns buys 100,000 shares at the same price, also on Thursday. Shares in CAB Payments fell on Thursday after it reported a more than 50% drop in earnings but said it ‘remains profitable and cash generative’ despite a challenging environment. Hopkinson joined as CFO at the start of this month, having previously worked at lender Metro Bank Holdings PLC and Standard Chartered PLC

Haydale Graphene Industries PLC - Carmarthenshire, Wales-based developer of materials using graphene and other nanomaterials - Chair Gareth Kaminski-Cook and CEO Simon Turek subscribe for shares as part of £131,000 equity raise at 0.15p per share on Thursday. Kaminski-Cook subscribes for 5.1 million shares and now has 9.1 million. Quidos Technologies Ltd, in which Turek has a 49% indirect beneficial interest, subscribes for 16.1 million shares and now has 695.4 million, a 18.1% stake. Haydale also on Thursday releases interim results. Its pretax loss in the six months that ended December 31 widens to £3.0 million from £2.5 million, as revenue nearly halves to £1.3 million from £2.5 million. However, Haydale says it sees a ‘clear path to profitability’.

Restore PLC - London-based digital and information management services - CEO Charles Skinner buys 44,438 shares at 225p, worth £99,986, on Thursday. CFO Dan Baker buys 25,000 shares at 224.2p on the same day. Skinner now has 1.7 million shares, and Baker has 125,000.

Taseko Mines Ltd - operates open-pit Gibraltar copper mine in British Columbia, Canada - Director Russell Hallbauer exercise options for 50,000 shares and sells all of them at C$3.26, worth C$163,000, about £87,288, on February 27.

Helios Underwriting PLC - investment vehicle that provides participation in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market - Interim Executive Chair John Chambers buys 40,000 shares at 208p, worth £83,200, on Wednesday. Chambers now has 600,000 shares, a 0.8% stake.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA - London-based owner of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling - Chief Information, Procurement, Services & Innovation Officer Jorge Saco sells 25,000 shares at £3.24, worth £81,000, on Monday.

Hill & Smith PLC - West Midlands, England-based provider of infrastructure products - Chair Alan Giddins buys 4,225 shares at £18.75 and £18.80, worth £79,298, on Wednesday. Giddins now has 97,350 shares.

Hollywood Bowl Group PLC - Hemel Hempstead, England-based ten-pin bowling operator - Wendy Shapland, the wife of Chair Darren Shapland, buys 30,000 shares at £2.58, worth £77,382, on Tuesday. The shares purchased are the chair’s only interest in Hollywood Bowl, having joined the board at the end of January.

Oxford Nanopore Technologies PLC - Oxford, England-based specialist in DNA and RNA sequencing technologies - Non-Executive Director John O’Higgins buys 77,000 shares at £0.97, worth £74,821, on Tuesday.

discoverIE Group PLC - Guildford, Surrey-based customised electronics maker - Chair Bruce Thomson buys 12,000 shares at £5.44, worth £65,280, on Tuesday. He now has 75,000 shares, a 0.1% stake. Finance Director Simon Gibbins buys 9,058 shares at £5.47 on Tuesday and now has 430,535 shares.

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC - Berkshire, England-based hotel company - Non-Executive Director Byron Grote buys 500 American depositary receipts, each representing an IHG ordinary share, at $113.45 and $115.35, worth $57,200 in total, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

SThree PLC - London-based recruiter, focused on the science, technology, engineering and mathematics - CEO Timo Lehne is awarded 20,405 shares at £2.60, worth £53,063, on Tuesday. Chief Financial Officer Andrew Beach is awarded 13,886 shares at the same price, also on Tuesday. The purchases represent one-third of the pair’s annual bonus payments.
