US personal spending rises 0.4% in May

US personal spending rose 0.4% in May, missing market expectations, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The market had been expecting personal spending to rise 0.5%.

Personal income, however, rose 0.5%, ahead of market expectations of a 0.3% improvement.
