UK gross domestic product rises 0.3% in May as expected

UK gross domestic product grew 0.3% in the month of May, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The rate of growth was in line with market expectations.

Manufacturing production grew 1.4%, missing expectations for a 2.2% rate.
