US unemployment rate steady at 3.7%; wages rise 0.3%

The US non-farm unemployment remained unchanged at 3.7% in June, amid the creation of 164k jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The number of jobs created was in line with market expectations, though the jobless rate had been expected to fall to 3.6%.

Average hourly earnings rose 8 cents, or 0.3%, to $27.98, above a 0.2% rise expected by the market.
