US personal spending rises 0.6% in July; beating expectations

US personal spending rose by 0.6% in July to $93.1bn, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The rise was ahead of market expectations for a 0.5% increase.

Personal income rose 0.1% to $23.9bn, below expectations of a 0.3% increase.
