Content producer Zinc Media said that it had closed the role of chief creative officer of television, leading to Fiona Stourton leaving the company.

Stourton was currently working on a number of projects for a range of broadcasters.

She would leave the company at the end of October, when most of those films would have been delivered and following an orderly handover.

'Fiona has held numerous senior roles within the group and has made a significant contribution to the Company during her 13 years,' chief executive Mark Browning said.

'She is an award winning journalist and programme maker and a consummate professional, always delivering programmes of the highest standards and operating with absolute integrity.'

'On behalf of the whole company I would like to thank her for her service to Zinc and wish her the very best in the future.'
