UK unemployment rate falls to 3.8%; wages rise 3.6%

The UK unemployment rate fell to 3.8% in the third quarter, from 3.9% in the previous period, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The market had been expecting the jobless rate to remain at 3.9%.

Average weekly earnings grew 3.6% for both total pay, including bonuses, and regular pay, excluding bonuses.
