US third-quarter GDP growth revised upwards to 2.1%

US gross domestic product rose by 2.1% in the third quarter, according to a 'second' estimate from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

The new reading marked a rise from the 1.9% rate recorded for the previous 'advance' estimated issued last month.
