UK unemployment rate rises to 3.9%

The UK unemployment rate rose to 3.9% in the three months through January, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The market had been expecting the jobless rate to remain steady at 3.8%.

Average weekly earnings rose 3.1%, beating expectations of a 3.0% improvement.
