UK gross domestic product slumps 20.4% in April

UK gross domestic product fell 20.4% in April as Covid-19 lockdowns battered the economy, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The market had been expecting a fall of 18.6%.

GDP had fallen 5.8% in March.
